Welcoming visitors to our churches: what works and what gets in the way?

The Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust Summer lecture , Saturday 20th July, 1pm – 3.45pm at St Michael and All Angels church, Thornhill WF12 0JZ.

“Welcoming Visitors to our Churches: What works and what gets in the way?”

Join The Ven. Dr Anne Dawtry, Archdeacon of Halifax and Chair of the Tourism Forum in the Diocese of Leeds, for an insightful lecture into how to engage visitors to places of worship. Having spent three months visiting over 200 churches in 2017, she will help us to think through a number of the issues which we need to consider when welcoming visitors to our churches, not only as tourists but also as potential pilgrims. Opening our churches is an opportunity for mission and inviting people to share, explore and use the church is an important step in building its future.
